The week before Eastern, the Semana Santa, is celebrated abundantly in Andalusia, Spain. Processions with statues of Maria and stages of the cross meander through cities and villages. Masked penitents and beautifully dresses women and children take part in the processions. Music bands are playing funerla marches in flamenco style. A rich mix of deep devotion and flamboyant public celebration.
